Using AI tools like MidJourney, I’ve been able to create spaces that reflect my Nigerian, Sierra Leonean, and Kenyan roots, each design revealing a different part of my cultural background:

Nigeria inspires bold color palettes and vibrant patterns, representing the rich, dynamic culture.
Sierra Leone brings in earthy tones and elements rooted in nature, creating a grounded, organic feel.
Kenya influences the minimalism and clean lines in my designs, creating serene spaces that evoke spirituality.
My Iberian and Finnish heritage adds a subtle touch of European modernism and cool-toned elegance.

With AI tools, I’ve explored these influences in ways that even surprised me. By analyzing my DNA, AI-generated designs bring out cultural nuances and infuse them into creative and deeply personal design landscapes.

In African culture, design serves as a form of communication. From bold patterns to symbolic textures, the elements often represent themes of ancestral reverence, spirituality, and community. Here are key elements I’ve explored through AI and cultural influence:

Faces and Figurines: Central figures in African-inspired interiors represent ancestors or spiritual guides, grounding the space in history and deeper cultural meaning.
Bold Color Palettes: African design uses color to symbolize life’s different aspects. For example, deep purples represent royalty, while vibrant greens and reds evoke harmony with nature.
Earthy, Natural Textures: Natural materials like clay and wood dominate, symbolizing sustainability and a deep connection with the earth.
